Fox News host Lou Dobbs tells his viewers that films like The Secret World of Arrietty, a Japanese anime film written by Hayao Miyazaki, is indoctrinating children into some sort of radical liberal agenda. They then go on to compare the film to the Occupy Wallstreet movement and one conservative guest informs us that we don’t need no “borrowers” (if you’ve seen the film/read the novel you’ll get this).
Just… wow.
Akira is what first sold me on anime as a serious art form.
